Our Story
Ardagh Community Trust (ACT) is a charity, established in 2017 (following more than 7 years work by local volunteers) to develop sustainable plans for regeneration of, and improvements to the Ardagh site for the benefit of the local and wider community.
ACT is managed by a board of Trustees who are local volunteers and works in partnership with Bristol City Council who own the Ardagh site. ACT is currently working towards a Community Asset Transfer for the Ardagh site, which will enable community management of this local authority asset for the benefit of local people. For more information about Community Asset Transfers, and the benefits of these for communities, please see: http://locality.org.uk/our-work/assets/what-are-community-assets/ |
ACT is a membership model Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Charity Registration Number: 1172556) which is managed by, and for, the local community.
Our membership scheme will be launched in Spring 2018 - all local people who support our aims are welcome to join ACT and to contribute to the development of our work, and input into key decision-making about our activities, existing and future priorities. In addition to our formal membership meetings, the Ardagh Users' Forum meets quarterly and provides an informal opportunity for all interested parties and stakeholders to meet together to discuss the activities of the organisation.
